Dr. Olaide Adelami, a former Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, has been sworn in as the Ondo State Deputy Governor.
At a ceremony on Thursday at the International Culture and Event Centre, Akure, the state’s Chief Judge, Justice Olusegun Odusola, swore in the new Deputy Governor.
Persecondnews reports that Dr. Adelami was picked on January 24, 2024, by the state governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, as the deputy governor, after which his name was sent to the State House of Assembly for screening and ratification.
Adelami, who hails from Owo, the headquarters of Owo Local Government Area, the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s town, retired as Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly in April 2018.
Adelami was an APC governorship aspirant in 2020 but stepped down for the late Akeredolu.
