President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate rescue of school children and their teachers who have been kidnapped in Ekiti State just as he denounced the killing of two traditional rulers in the state on Monday.
The news of the deaths of two traditional leaders in Ekiti State, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsola, the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, and Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola, the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, grieved President Tinubu, a statement given to Persecondnews said.
Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, said President Tinubu has vowed that those responsible for this senseless and heinous bloodletting will face consequences.
The President expressed his sympathies to the people of Ekiti State, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, and the families and subjects of the traditional rulers over this incredibly painful tragedy.
Also, Tinubu has directed the prompt rescue of pupils and their teachers abducted in the Eporo area of the state.
As the government’s primary duty is to protect the people and their property, President Tinubu reassured Nigerians that the country’s security framework is being firmly strengthened in order to achieve better and anticipated results.
