Nigerian music sensation, Mayorkun, vis livid and frustrated after he reportedly lost a precious, undisclosed item during his performance in Calabar, the capital of Cross Rivers state on Monday.
Taking to Twitter to vent his disdain, the singer expressed the intensity of his disappointment, going as far as declaring that he might never grace the Calabar stage again, calling the experience a nightmarish episode.
While Mayorkun didn’t disclose what he lost, Per Second News pieced together information hinting that the item in question might be Mayorkun’s valuable diamond pendant worth millions of naira.
Following the incident, Mayorkun’s colleague, Iyanya, stepped forward to defend him and called upon the people of the state to take necessary measures in protecting their guests, especially artistes brought in by the state government during the festive period.
“Calabar I may probably never visit your state or city again. I wish this is just a dream and I can’t even understand it. It is more like a nightmare that should never have happened,” he lamented.
Mayorkun said he hoped the situation would be a mere bad dream, emphasising the distress the incident had caused him.
