The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has discovered and demolished an illegal oil refining warehouse in Mabushi area of Abuja.

The head of the operation and the Director of Development Control, Mr Mukhtar Galadima, said the warehouse located opposite Mobil filling station along Ahmadu Bello Way, Mabushi, is built on four plots designed for commercial purposes.

Addressing newsmen after the exercise, he said no arrest was made, but items used for the illegal activities have been impounded.

He said: “From what we have seen so far, about three or four plots of lands designated for commercial purposes have been converted to unapproved activities.

“We believe that the owners are fully aware, and as such, there will be consequences.

“We are going to look at the provision of the law and make necessary recommendations to the FCT Administration.”

Galadima said items recovered from the site have been moved to the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) office.
