Amid financial crisis: Kogi Govt. freezes state, LG accounts

The Kogi State Government has ordered the immediate freezing of all the state and local government accounts with immediate effect amid financial crisis.

The Commissioner for Finance, Chief Asiru Idris, who announced the freeze, said no imprest or any other form of payment should be made from the government account henceforth.

“Additionally, all standing orders and investment instructions have been cancelled with immediate effect,” a statement signed by the commissioner obtained by Persecondnews, said.

“This freeze on all Kogi State and local government accounts is said to be effective from Thursday, November 23rd, 2003,” he said.
