Following the visit of Nigerian singer, Naira Marley, to the office National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Thursday, social media users have reacted to the visit, asking why the singer who smokes weed publicly could be allowed into the premises of the anti-drug agency.

The picture of the visit of Marley to the NDLEA boss, retired Brig.Gen. Buba Marwa, sparked immediate reactions on Twitter as many netizens registered their disbelief, wondering why the singer who smokes weed brazenly would be embraced by the agency.

The visit, Per Second News learnt, was at the instance of the agency’s head in its bid to fight drug abuse among Nigerian youths among whom Marley has a cult-like following.

Since he broke into the music scene some years back, the singer has been known for his unruly and marijuana smoking nature.

The singer, who calls himself Marlian president, is currently standing trial on 11-count charge bordering on credit card fraud, was said to have declared support for war against drug abuse.

The move by the agency to make him an ambassador drew flaks from many Twitter users as they reacted angrily to the news of Marley’s purported deal with NDLEA.

In a video that is trending on Twitter, Naira said: “I will like to urge my fans, especially Nigerian youths to quit taking drugs as this is not good for your health.

*I have keyed into the campaign against drug abuse and I want to use this medium to tell my fans to stop the abuse of drugs and dangerous substance.”
