A statement from the office of the Secretary to the Federal Government instructed Emefiele to immediately hand over to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate), who would serve as the Acting Central Bank Governor while investigations about his office and the reforms he implemented.
Emefiele, CFR, is a Nigerian politician, economist and banker and was appointed the governor of the CBN on June 4, 2014.
