Breaking: Pres. Buhari dissolves Federal Executive Council

1.5k

In a strategic move to pave the way for a new administration on May 29, outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari has dissolved the Federal Executive Council (FEC) as he presided over the valedictory FEC meeting.

The dissolution of the cabinet as some governors have done is to prepare the offices for new appointees and prevent last-minute shady deals by the outgoing ministers and other officials.

Persecondnews gathered that Buhari had earlier directed all the ministers to hand over all official documents in their custody to the Permanent Secretaries of their various ministries before attending the last valedictory FEC meeting today (Wednesday, May 24).

Buhari had expressed appreciation to the political appointees, some of who had served in the eight years of the administration after two terms as governors.
