With barely five days to the end of his administration, President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday requested the approval of the Senate for over N545 billion to pay some accumulated judgment debts.

His request was read on Wednesday at Senate plenary session by Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, seeking the approval of $566,754,584.31, 98 million pounds, and N266 billion owed by the Federal Government through the issuance of promissory notes.

Buhari is currently presiding over the valedictory Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Council Chambers in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He had earlier dissolved his cabinet and directed ministers and other political appointees to hand over to the Permanent Secretaries of their various ministries before coming for the meeting.
