The convoy of the Osun State Speaker, Mr Timothy Owoeye has crashed on the Ilesha-Osogbo road in the state, according to a report just reaching Persecondnews.
The Speaker was heading to Osogbo from Ilesha after an official assignment when the traffic accident occurred on Thursday at 2.10pm amid a downpour.
The Speaker and some of his aides who were reportedly injured in the accident, are receiving treatment at a hospital.
According to a witness, a vehicle heading to Ilesa lost control as a result of heavy rainfall and crashed into the convoy.
Confirming the incident, the Speaker’s media aide, Mr Kunle Alabi said: “It was a head-on collision along Osogbo/Ilesha road. Speaker and his aides that were injured have been taken to hospital for medical attention.
“The Speaker is fine but they have to check him very well to ensure that he is not in any way injured.
“I can’t confirm to you the numbers of his aides that were injured but nobody died in the accident.”
