President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a raise in the duty tour allowances (DTAs) for ministers, permanent secretaries and civil servants on Grade Level one to 17.

Duty tour allowance is payable to public servants who embark on official trips within the country.

Persecondnews recalls that on February 3, 2022, Buhari had approved 100 percent upward review of workers’ duty tour allowance.

On December 2021, the Federal Executive Council also approved the review of police duty tour allowance and shift allowance to six percent as well as the release of N1.2 billion for the payment of uninsured benefits.

The Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi, disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents at the end of the virtual council meeting.

He, however, said the new allowances for ministers and permanent secretaries and others take effect from September 1.
