Jetting out after handing over the reins as Anambra State Governor to the newly-inaugurated Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, ex-Gov. Willie Obiano, has been apprehended at the Lagos airport.
The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday stopped Obiano, who they have been trailing for months as he was boarding to the United States.
He was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos about 8:24pm while on his way to Houston in Texas, U.S.
Obiano is cooling his heels at the EFCC office in Awolowo, Ikoyi, Lagos, where he is undergoing grilling.
Persecondnews.com had reported that Obiano’s wife had earlier on Thursday engaged Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu’s widow, Bianca, in a fisticuff at the inauguration of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo as the 6th governor of Anambra.
