“The reparation is for the massive damage to his exotic cars that include Mercedes Benz G-Class and 2019 Lexus cars during a midnight bloody attack and raid of house in Soka area of Ibadan on July 1”
“The DSS carted away €1,000, N2m, expensive jewellery worth millions, travel documents, amulets, Igboho’s iPhone 12 and phones of about 15 others living in the house including those killed by the officers and other yet-to-be-identified belongings”
Aftermath of wanton destruction of his properties worth millions of naira by the Department of State Security (DSS), a youth activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a Sunday Igboho, has written to the Federal Government, demanding a N500 million compensation.
The reparation is for the massive damage to his exotic cars that include Mercedes Benz G-Class and 2019 Lexus cars during a midnight bloody attack and raid of house in Soka area of Ibadan on July 1.
Adeyemo is also demanding a public apology from the DSS for the dastardly acts.
His lawyer, Chief Yomi Alliyu (SAN) of Chief Yomi Alliyu & Co. made the demands in a letter to the Federal Government entitled, “Illegal gang grossly unconstitutional invasion of Sunday Igboho Residence.’’
He said during the house invasion, the DSS carted away €1,000, N2m, expensive jewellery worth millions, travel documents, amulets, Igboho’s iPhone 12 and phones of about 15 others living in the house including those killed by the officers and other yet-to-be-identified belongings.
The letter reads:“We hereby demand that the Federal Government orders an investigation into the actions of the various security operatives led by DSS that raided Chief Sunday Adeyemo’s house with a view to sanctioning them and release all the innocent people arrested and compensate the families of those murdered.
“Our client should also be paid N500m as reparation for damage to his exotic cars that include Mercedes Benz G-Class and 2019 Lexus Car.
“We also demand a public apology.”
It noted that during Igboho’s sensitization and mobilization rallies for the creation of a Yoruba nation, he had always preached peace.
The lawyer alleged that DSS operatives who raided Igboho’s house were disappointed for not finding a single gun or ammunition in his house.
“The DSS operatives arrested two police escorts of Igboho’s guests and added their guns to those harvested from their armoury.
“They did this to make members of the public believe that lgboho keeps militia or as stated by them.”
Meanwhile, the DSS spokesman, Dr Peter Afunaya has reacted to the allegations of Igboho’s lawyer, saying they stood by the statement initially released after the raid.
“The statement by the services suffices. The statement also said those arrested would be charged accordingly. There would be court action.
“Investigation and forensic analysis are ongoing and there would be court action soon,” he said.
