Burna Boy, Whizkid’s Grammy Awards excite Federal Goverment, congratulates duo

Impressed by the Grammy Awards won by Nigerian music stars, Burna Boy and Whizkid, the Federal Goverment has sent congratulatory messages, extolling them.

It described the much-deserved awards as fitting rewards for the persistent hard work and adept performance of the artistes.

Information and Culture Minister Lai Mohammed, said the awards also represented a global endorsement for the Afrobeat genre of music that has propelled Nigeria’s increasing dominance of the music world.

The congratulatory messages were contained in a statement by Mr Segun Adeyemi, the Special Assistant to the President on Media, Office of the Minister of Information and Culture and emailed to Persecondnews on Monday.

He expressed the hope that the prestigious awards won by the two music stars would not only spur them to greater heights, but would serve as a source of inspiration to others.
