Buhari mourns, extols Isma’ila Isa Funtua, ex-NPAN President

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed deep sadness on the passing of his longtime friend and associate, Malam Isma’ila Isa Funtua, a former President of the Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN).

 

 

 

He was also the Life Patron of International Press Institute (IPI) and the Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN).

 

 

 

In a message by Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Buhari condoled with family members, the government and people of Katsina State as well associates and the media industry on the loss.

A copy of the statement was obtained by Persecondnews late Monday evening.

 

 

 

Describing him as greatly admired and respected, the President believed that the demise of the publisher and businessman had created a huge gap as Funtua consistently stood by him in his political journey.

 

 

 

Buahri prayed to Allah for the repose of Funtua’s soul and to grant the family the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
