Nigeria records highest daily count of new COVID-19 cases as virus spreads in states

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control health officials confirmed 745 more cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, the highest daily count of cases reported since the pandemic began.

Officials attributed the jump in cases to increased testing.

NCDC also announced six new deaths, with total cases now at 18,480 across the nation.
