Prof Gambari inaugurated as Chief of Staff, assumes duty in Aso Rock

Newly-appointed Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Prof. Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, on Wednesday assumed duties at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Gambari, former External Affairs Minister in the Gen. Buhari military government between 1983 and 1985, was received on arrival by Senior Presidency officials including the Director of Protocol, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed and the Permanent Secretary State House, Mallam Tijani Umar.

Other officials who welcomed him are the Senior Special Assistant ro the President on Foreign Affairs, Office of the Vice President, Amb. Abdullahi Gwari and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media, Mallam Garuba Shehu.
Gambari, a renowned diplomat, is currently participating in the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by the President.
PerSecondNews recalls recalls that the media was awash with Gambari’s appointment yesterday even though there was no official announcement.
He replaces the late incumbent, Abba Kyari, who last month succumbed to COVID-19-related complications.
