A self-styled prophet, Segun Philip, who dismembered the body of Favour Daley-Oladele, a final year student of Lagos State University, and took out the organs for money-making rituals, and the dare-devil lover boy, Owolabi Adeeko and his mother, Bola Adeeko, are now cooling their heels in prison following their arraignment on Friday.

The trio has begun the journey into the tortuous road to justice as an Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Apomu remanded them at Nigerian Ilesha Correctional Centre at Ilesa.

They are facing multiple charges bordering on murder.

Persecondnews reports that the pleas of the accused, who were brought to court in handcuffs, could not be taken because of the murder charge preferred against them.

Magistrate Olukunle Idowu-Faith, who refused to take their pleas, ordered that they should kept in custody until the next adjournment.

He adjourned the case until March 25 for mention.

The village “pastor’’ at Ikoyi-Ile, Osun State, 42-year-old Segun Philips, has owned up to collecting just N210,000 to kill Favour.

He told reporters at the Ogun Police Command headquarters in Abeokuta: “It is true I slaughtered Favour with a knife. I was the one, who removed her heart, breasts and other vital organs, so that we could use them for rituals.

“But, I was not the one, who smashed her head with a pestle. Owolabi (the blood-thirsty boyfriend) did that.”

The 23-year-old Owolabi Adeeko had smashed her head with a pestle in a sleep on arrival at the church.

The “pastor’’ said the organs were used to prepare a concoction for Owolabi and his mother.

“I prepared the concoction for her and her son because I was broke and I needed money. I demanded N250,000 but I was paid N210,000.

“I was called by God, but I think I have lost the calling because of what I did,” he said.

Owolabi, who was apprehended by men of the Ogun State Police Command in Ikoyi-Ile, was said to have confessed to the police that he sought Philips’ help for money rituals.

The deceased had left her parents house in  Mowe, Ogun for school and visited her boyfriend on her way and since December 8, 2019, she had not been seen.

She was declared missing by the Mowe Police Station in Ogun State following a report by her parents.
