President Muhammadu Buhari Friday said he is now okay and only went to the United Kingdom for a routine medical check-up, clarifying his health condition.

“I just went for a checkup. I am now okay, he said.

On hand to receive him were the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello, among other top government functionaries and presidential aides.

The president’s health has remained a hot-button issue as a lack of information from the presidency has opened the door to intense speculation.
