Herdsmen carried out a devastating ambush on a convoy of Nigeria police and security officials deep inside the Logo Local Government Area on Monday, officials say.
The officers drafted to keep surveillance on the troubled Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, were overpowered by the lethal militant herdsmen.
The incident occurred on Monday when the herders attacked the camp of Mobile policemen, Mopol 13, stationed at Awashuwa village, and injured two.
According to Dr Kester Kyenge, former chairman of the Logo local government area, the policemen were disarmed, while some of the officers fled the scene.
