President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to defeating terrorism in the country, despite rising international concerns.

In a statement posted on his verified X account on Friday, Tinubu said Nigeria will not be intimidated or derailed from its mission to eradicate terrorism.

“We face challenges head-on and remain steadfast in our commitment to engage partners and champion Nigeria’s interests on the diplomatic front,” Tinubu wrote.

The President stressed that national security is non-negotiable and vowed that no effort will be spared in eliminating threats to peace.

“We are indeed faced with terrorism  a challenge Nigeria has faced for almost two decades, and we will not back down.

“We will decisively defeat terrorism and claim victory in this battle. Security is non-negotiable, and we will never compromise on this principle. With unwavering courage and a steadfast commitment to the rule of law, we will prevail,” he said.

Tinubu called on Nigeria’s international partners to continue supporting the country, noting that collaboration is critical to sustaining progress already made.

“We urge our allies to stand firmly with us as we amplify our fight against terrorism. We have made significant progress in the past two years and we will decisively eliminate this threat.”

The President expressed deep appreciation to members of the armed forces and intelligence community, acknowledging their sacrifices in defending national unity.

“Your commitment is our strength in the fight against terror,” he wrote.
