Bayern Munich’s trip to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday is a crucial test of their European elite status.

The Bavarian giants have been on a tear, winning 15 straight matches in all competitions, setting a new record for the best start to a season in the top five European leagues.

“We’ve won 15 games, that’s good. But it has to continue — it’s not enough yet,” Bayern coach Vincent Kompany told fans at the club’s AGM on Sunday.

“I promise we will do everything to give you a successful season.”

Bayern’s incredible start includes breaking a record set by AC Milan in 1992-93.

They have only trailed once, in a 4-1 German Cup win over Cologne, and have dominated domestically, beating teams placed second to fifth in the Bundesliga table.

Harry Kane has been instrumental in Bayern’s success, scoring 22 goals in 15 games.

Kompany has deployed Kane as a number 10, encouraging him to drop deep and create opportunities.

Kane’s impact has been crucial, especially with Jamal Musiala out for six months.

PSG, the European champions, are a formidable opponent.

They have dominated in Europe, winning three games and sitting atop the Champions League table.

Bayern sporting director Max Eberl acknowledged the challenge: “Two top teams are meeting each other. We’re going there, we’re still unbeaten at the moment. We want to keep it that way.”
