Mabel Makun, the estranged wife of comedian and filmmaker Ayo Makun, has sparked fresh conversations online after sharing a cryptic message about silence, truth, and knowing where to begin.
Mabel made the remarks following the burial of the late Alex Ekubo, whom she described as one of the most caring and selfless people she had ever encountered.
Paying tribute to the deceased, she wrote: “Never to put a question where God has put a full stop. Rest easy, one of the most caring humans ever.”
However, it was another part of her message that quickly drew public attention, with many interpreting it as a subtle reflection on the breakdown of her marriage to AY, which became public in April 2024 after years together.
Responding to the notion that her silence meant she had no answer to critics or public speculation, Mabel insisted that remaining quiet should not be mistaken for having nothing meaningful to say.
“Truth be say, get response but I no just know where to start from, hence the silence and withdrawal,” she wrote.
Her statement suggests that her decision to stay away from public exchanges over the past two years has been more about restraint and reflection than an inability to respond.
Mabel and AY, who married in 2008 and share a daughter, ended their union after more than a decade together.
While the separation generated intense public interest, Mabel has largely maintained a low profile and avoided discussing the circumstances surrounding the split.
The latest post has reignited discussions among fans, many of whom believe she may eventually tell her side of the story.
Others, however, praised her decision to remain dignified and avoid public drama despite persistent speculation.
