The Super Eagles’ camp in Polokwane, South Africa, has welcomed 18 players so far, with Portugal-based defender Zaidu Sanusi and Spain-based forward Jerome Akor Adams expected to join the team on Wednesday.

Both players will participate in the evening training session as the team intensifies its preparations for the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho on Friday.

The 18 players who have reported to the camp include Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman, and Fulham trio Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, and Samuel Chukwueze.

Other notable players in camp are William Troost-Ekong, Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, Terem Moffi, and Frank Onyeka.

The team is being led by Head Coach Eric Sekou Chelle, who has emphasized the importance of winning the match against Lesotho to keep Nigeria’s World Cup hopes alive.

In addition to Sanusi and Akor Adams, USA-based midfielder Alhassan Yusuf Abdullahi is expected to land in South Africa on Thursday, further bolstering the team’s lineup.

However, Russia-based forward Olakunle Olusegun is still awaiting an entry visa into South Africa, which could impact his participation in the match.

Persecondnews reports that the Super Eagles will face Lesotho at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, South Africa on Friday, with kickoff scheduled for 6 pm South Africa time (5 pm Nigeria time).
