Joao Pedro was the star of the show as Chelsea secured a spot in the Club World Cup final with a 2-0 win over Fluminense.

The Brazilian striker, who signed for Chelsea from Brighton and Hove Albion just last week for a reported £60 million, scored twice on his first start for the Blues, showcasing his clinical finishing and impressive technique.

Pedro’s first goal was a beautifully curled shot from the edge of the box, which he controlled with ease after Thiago Silva had cleared a Pedro Neto cross.

He took a touch and unleashed a powerful shot that flew into the far corner, leaving veteran goalkeeper Fabio with no chance.

The 23-year-old refused to celebrate his goal, showing respect to his former club, Fluminense, where he started his career and made 36 top-team appearances before moving to England with Watford in 2020.

Chelsea’s dominant performance was led by Pedro, who was given his first start by manager Enzo Maresca.

The Premier League side were too strong for Fluminense, and Pedro’s second goal sealed the win.

Enzo Fernandez released Pedro on the break, and the forward produced another clinical finish, slotting the ball past Fabio after it hit the bar.

The win sets up a final for Chelsea against either Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain, and Pedro’s performance will give the Blues fans plenty to cheer about.

Despite being a new signing, Pedro has already made an impact at Chelsea, and his goals will be crucial in the team’s bid to win the Club World Cup.

Fluminense’s impressive run at the tournament came to an end, despite their best efforts.

The 2023 Copa Libertadores winners had held Borussia Dortmund in the group stage, beaten Inter Milan in the last 16, and knocked out Al-Hilal in the quarter-finals.

However, Chelsea’s quality and depth proved too much for them, and they were unable to capitalize on their chances.

The final will be a showcase of European football’s finest, with Chelsea facing off against one of the giants of the sport.
