Nigerian singer and songwriter Reekado Banks has made a shocking revelation about a powerful figure in the entertainment industry who, according to him, has been stifling the growth of young talents through either incompetence or unethical conduct.

Taking to social media, the Ozumba Mbadiwe crooner wrote:“One day, I’ll take an interview to talk about someone in the corners of the entertainment industry, who’s either absolutely CLUELESS or plain DEMONIC.

“Somehow, the brightest budding talents fall in their lap and either through cluelessness or pure demonic activities, they agree to policies that effectively slow these talents down and, for some other talents, frustrate them out of pursuing their dreams. One day …”

His cryptic post has stirred fresh controversy on social media platforms and many are beginning ask who he could be directing his threat at on the Nigerian entertainment scene, fueling speculation about who the individual in question might be.

Many industry watchers have pointed out that Nigerian music is often controlled by a few influential figures who dictate the direction of artists’ careers, sometimes through unfavourable contracts, psychological pressure, or alleged spiritual manipulation.

Reekado Banks’ bold statement suggests he may have witnessed firsthand how these forces operate, leading fans to believe he is ready to expose what goes on behind the scenes.

This revelation comes at a time when the Katapot singer has been making headlines for quashing his four-year-long rift with Wizkid.

The two artistes, who had a public fallout in 2020 over the #EndSARS protests, were recently seen exchanging friendly messages, marking the end of their feud.

Some fans believe that reconnecting with Wizkid may have inspired Reekado Banks to speak up about the challenges within the industry, as both artistes have experienced intense scrutiny and power struggles in their careers.

With Reekado Banks’ career now on a steady resurgence, his latest statement raises an important question—will he eventually name the entertainment industry figure he claims is holding young artistes back, or will this remain an open secret?
