FG honours Nigeria’s national flag designer, late Akinkunmi, donates N30m to family.

The Federal Government has made a generous donation of N30 million to the family of the late Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi, the renowned designer of Nigeria’s national flag.

This gesture, made two years after his passing, aims to support his family and show appreciation for his contributions to the country.

The donation was presented to the family by Mr. Lanre Issa-Onilu, the Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), and Mrs. Olukemi Afolayan, the Oyo State Director of NOA on behalf of the Federal Government.

Issa-Onilu said the gesture was not to pay for the services of the late legend, but to support his family in appreciation of his contributions to the country.

Persecondnews recalls that Akinkunmi, passed away at the age of 87, with his family facing financial difficulties.

This prompted President Bola Tinubu to pledge financial support to the family, a promise that has now been fulfilled.
