The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced a remarkable achievement in revenue generation for the year 2024 with ₦6.1 trillion raked in for the government.

According to the Comptroller General of Customs, Mr. Bashir Adeniyi, the ₦6.1 trillion reflects a 90.4% increase compared to the ₦3.2 trillion collected in 2023.

He told a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday that the service exceeded its revenue target for 2024, which was set at ₦5.07 trillion, by 22%.

This achievement is a testament to the service’s commitment to enhancing revenue generation and facilitating trade, he said.

The NCS achieved its highest revenue collection in October, amounting to ₦603 billion.

Adeniyi attributed this success to the service’s strategic efforts to improve revenue generation and trade facilitation.

He said Customs Service has been working to strengthen its processes and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve its goals.
