No fewer than 100 veteran actors, colleagues and friends of ailing Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, have converged on Lagos Television (LTV 8) for a special prayer session over his deteriorating health.
The gathering, which is currently underway, is being held to seek divine intervention for the veteran actor, whose family recently disclosed that he is battling Stage 4 cancer.
Ogogo is said to be in a fragile condition, prompting colleagues and those close to him to intensify prayers and spiritual support for the actor.
The prayer session comes amid growing concern over his health, with calls from some quarters for the actor to be flown abroad for further treatment.
However, his doctors are said to have advised against airlifting him at this stage, reportedly considering his current condition too fragile for a flight.
PerSecondNews reports that among those in attendance at the prayer gathering are veteran actors Jide Kosoko, Yinka Quadri, Madam Saje and Bukky Wright, alongside several other prominent figures in the Yoruba film industry.
Islamic clerics are currently leading prayers at the venue, with colleagues and well-wishers joining in the supplications for the actor’s recovery.
The gathering has attracted scores of actors who have worked closely with Ogogo throughout his decades-long career in the Nigerian film industry.
Speaking with Per Second News at the prayer session, veteran actor Jide Kosoko said the situation calls for prayers and collective support for their colleague.
Kosoko stressed the importance of seeking divine intervention at a time when Ogogo’s health has become a major concern among his colleagues, friends and fans.
He said the industry would continue to stand with the actor and his family, urging Nigerians and well-wishers to keep him in their prayers.
The prayer session is expected to continue as colleagues remain hopeful that Ogogo will pull through the health challenge.
