Eguavoen, Chelle arrive in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun as Super Eagles B prepare for African Nations Champs

The Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) Technical Director, Coach Augustine Eguavoen, has arrived at the Ikenne-Remo camp of the Super Eagles B, alongside new Super Eagles’ Head Coach, Éric Sékou Chelle, and his agent, Sidibe Abraham Brehima.

The trio traveled from Abuja to Lagos on Tuesday morning aboard a ValueJet Airline CRJ 700 aircraft and then proceeded to the Remo Stars’ Sports Institute in Ogun State.

According to NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, Chelle will play a supervisory role with the Eagles B, while the team’s preparation and participation in the African Nations Championship will be handled by Daniel Ogunmodede, Fidelis Ilechukwu, and Olatunji Baruwa.

The trio successfully qualified the team for the tournament.

Meanwhile, the draw for the final tournament of the 8th African Nations Championship took place in Nairobi, Kenya, on Wednesday evening.

Super Eagles’ Team Administrator, Dayo Enebi Achor, represented Nigeria at the ceremony, which was held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre.

CAF’s Director of Competitions, Mr. Samson Adamu, conducted the draw, assisted by Hassan Wasswa of Uganda, Tanzanian Mrisho Ngasa, and Kenyan legend McDonald Mariga.

A total of 19 countries, including joint-hosts Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda, Nigeria, Morocco, Guinea, Senegal, Mauritania, Burkina Faso and Central African Republic.

Others include Algeria, Niger Republic, Congo, Sudan, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Angola, and Madagascar, who were represented in the draw.

The ceremony determined the group stage fixtures for the tournament which will take place in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
