The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has announced a landmark agreement with Dangote Refinery to lift petroleum products directly, ensuring a steady and affordable supply of fuel nationwide.

IPMAN’s National President, Abubakar Garima, announced this at a media briefing in Abuja on Monday, following a meeting with the National Working Committee of the Association.

The partnership, which concludes several months of negotiations, is expected to increase efficiency, affordability, and economic growth.

Garima expressed optimism that the deal would benefit IPMAN’s 30,000 members and 150,000 retail outlets nationwide, providing direct access to Dangote Refinery’s products, including PMS, AGO, and DPK.

He said: “After meeting with Aliko Dangote and his management team in Lagos, we are pleased to announce that Dangote Refinery has agreed to supply IPMAN with PMS, AGO, and DPK directly for distribution to our depots and retail outlets.”

Garima urged IPMAN members to support Dangote Refinery, emphasizing the benefits of backward integration and its positive impact on Nigeria’s economy.

By relying on local refineries, IPMAN members will contribute to the country’s economic growth and development.

The Dangote Refinery, the largest in Africa and Europe, has commenced production of petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel.

The refinery has the capacity to supply products to IPMAN’s extensive network, thereby transforming Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector.

This strategic partnership between IPMAN and Dangote Refinery is a significant step toward achieving Nigeria’s goal of self-sufficiency in fuel production and distribution.
