The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has announced the recovery of two more bodies from the Sikorsky S-76 helicopter that crashed in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Thursday, October 24.

Persecondnews has reported that the helicopter carrying six passengers, including NNPC Ltd’s personnel and two crew members, crashed on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of three people.

The helicopter lost contact around 11:22 am on October 24, 2024, shortly after taking off from Port Harcourt NAF Base en route to the FPSO facility– NUIMS ANTAN.

In a follow-up on Friday, the NSIB reported that two additional bodies were located, bringing the total recovered to five.

Three people remain missing as recovery efforts continue.

When asked about the likelihood of survivors, Badeh commented: “Unfortunately, the current working theory is that none of those on board survived.”
