The Federal Government has launched a portal to enable youths to access 2,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) tricycles, a move aimed at improving transportation infrastructure and fostering economic growth.
This initiative is part of President Bola Tinubu’s vision to provide equal opportunities to all Nigerians, regardless of wealth or social status.
The Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Mr. Ayodele Olawande, unveiled the portal in collaboration with the Presidential CNG Initiative (PI-CNG) and National Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association (NATOMORAS) in Abuja on Wednesday.
Persecondnews reports that the portal promotes transparency in enrolling youths in the Presidential CNG Initiative within the transportation sector.
Youths from all the geopolitical zones can register on the portal and connect with aggregators or owners involved in the programme.
This initiative encourages young people working in or interested in the commercial transportation sector to benefit from the Presidential Initiative on CNG, a key component of the President’s palliative program.
The key benefits of this initiative include empowering youths to gain employment and potentially own CNG tricycles, ensuring transparency and equal access to the program for all Nigerians, and contributing to the growth of the transportation sector and the economy at large.
The Representative of the Presidential CNG Initiatives, Mr. Tosin Coker, expressed gratitude to the Ministry and aggregators for supporting the initiative, which will create opportunities for many youths.
The Chairman of NATOMORAS, Alhaji Sani Hassan, assured the Minister of the Association’s full commitment to mobilize and educate their members to actively participate in the program and make the most of the opportunity.
