Nigeria has third-largest naval fleet in Africa as of 2024 – Latest ranking

The 2024 Global Fire Power rankings have positioned Nigeria third in the hierarchy of Africa’s strongest naval fleets.

The ranking is based on the total count of warships and submarines possessed by each country.

Algeria ranks first on the list with 213 Naval Fleets, while Egypt and Morocco rank second and fourth with 140 and 121 Naval Fleets, respectively.

The top 10 African countries with the largest naval fleets in 2024 are Algeria with 213 vessels, Egypt with 140, Nigeria with 133, Morocco with 121, Cameroon with 65, and Tunisia with 52.

It also reports South Africa with 47, Angola with 40, Ghana with 27, and Eritrea with 23.
