On Saturday, June 29, a devastating series of attacks occurred in Gwoza, a town near the border with Cameroon, leaving at least 18 people dead and many more injured.

The assaults, allegedly carried out by female suicide bombers, targeted a wedding celebration, a hospital, and a funeral procession, causing widespread harm and destruction in the area.

The spokesperson for the Borno State Police Command, Nahum Daso, confirmed the incident on Sunday.
