Pa Adebola Ezekiel, an 80-year-old man, and his wife, Abiodun Ezekiel, have been found murdered in their Apo apartment in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Persecondnews gathered that the man, who was in a wheelchair, and his wife, had their throats slit by their assailants, who reportedly used daggers.

One of the man’s sons had beckoned on a neighbour in the area to help check on his parents, who had not been picking up his calls.

“On getting there, the door was locked, but I was urged on by the son to break into the apartment to find out what was wrong.

“After one of the windows was forced open, the remains of the deceased were found in a pool of blood,” he said.

DSP Josephine Adeh, the FCT police spokesperson, confirmed the incident, saying FCT Commissioner of Police Benneth Igweh personally visited the crime scene and had directed the CID to commence a discreet investigation into the incident immediately.

We tracked the driver of the deceased couple to his hideout in Obajana, Kogi State, and promptly arrested him, she said.

She said he had confessed to gaining access to the house and slitting the throats of the elderly couple before stealing their phones and ATM cards.
