DJ Switch, in the wake of widespread speculation about her alleged arrest, has taken to social media to dispel the rumours and denounce the false reporting that led to the unfounded claims.

Early this morning, the acclaimed DJ and activist said she woke up to a barrage of calls and messages on her phone.

Perplexed by the unexpected attention, she soon discovered the reason behind the commotion: false news circulating online suggesting her arrest.

Addressing the issue head-on, DJ Switch, whose real name is Obianuju Catherine Udeh, stated: “One of the links that was sent to me alleged that I had assaulted the police. Now, while I am not a fan of many of our policemen and women, I do not condone nor do I support violence against the police.”

Expressing her dismay at the state of modern journalism, she lamented the reckless dissemination of unverified information by certain media outlets, driven by a relentless pursuit of web traffic.

“Our blogs have such an unhealthy appetite for traffic that they can’t even spend the transport fare; it would cost them to go investigate and make certain of the news they share with the public,” she remarked.

Emphatically refuting the baseless accusations levied against her, DJ Switch asserted her commitment to truth and integrity.

“Many people want so badly to believe I am just like those I’ve fought against or believing that I have sacrificed all I have ever worked for just to bring down Nigeria. This is false,” she declared.

In a bold move to defend her reputation, DJ Switch revealed that her legal team had taken action against the purveyors of the false narrative.

“My lawyers have screenshotted every blog where they can find this false news, and this is defamation of my character,” she stated firmly.

Issuing a stern ultimatum to those responsible for spreading misinformation, she demanded corrective action.

“These blogs have till the end of the day to take down this false news and kindly replace it with a post correcting their mistake,” she asserted, underscoring her aversion to seeking cheap publicity or engaging in clout-chasing.

DJ Switch reiterated her commitment to justice and accountability, urging responsible journalism and calling for collective learning.

“I am not looking for cheap publicity; I hate clout chasing, and I actually am not an ass because I was advised to sue immediately, which would cost them all a lot. So please do the needful and let us learn.”
