Moscow’s terrorist attack: Death toll rises to 115

The Russian investigative committee said at least 115 people have died after last night’s attack at a concert hall near Moscow with fears that the death toll may rise.

“At the site of the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall concert hall, when emergency services were clearing the rubble, more bodies of the dead were found,” the committee said.

“Thus, the death toll currently stands at 115 people.“

The governor of the Moscow region says he expect the death toll to rise, as rescue workers continue to move rubble at the scene.

“Rescuers are working at the scene of the tragedy in Crocus around the clock – they are continuing to clear the rubble and look for people,” said.

“719 specialists and 213 pieces of equipment are involved… another 20 bodies were found under the rubble.

“The work will continue for at least a few more days.“

Gunmen had opened fire on crowds at a concert hall in Krasnogorsk in the Moscow region, killing at least 115 and injuring more than 100 on Friday evening.

However, the Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack.

But the Russian intelligence agency the FSB said it has arrested Ukrainian contacts who were attempting to flee over the border after the attack.
