In the midst of a social media storm, Olurombi Babatunde, popularly known as King Samba, has stepped forward to address the brewing controversy surrounding his latest track, “Holy Ghost.”

The song, which gained significant traction online, became the focal point of contention between former actress Lizzy Anjorin and an anonymous blogger.

Samba found himself at the centre of a heated exchange after Anjorin accused him of orchestrating a campaign to undermine her reputation through his music.

However, the artist denied any ill intentions towards Anjorin, asserting that his music is solely dedicated to praising God and combating evil forces.

“I don’t have any issues with LIZZY ANJORIN,” Samba stated emphatically. He went on to clarify the sequence of events that led to the online feud, shedding light on the genesis of the controversy.

“I released a song, HOLY GHOST FIRE, towards the end of January this year, and a lot of people are helping me to share and promote it,” Samba explained.

“But after a Sunday service, some of my church members decided to jump on the song with a viral video, which I later posted on my social media pages.”

The viral video, which garnered attention from various media outlets, including Gist Lover, drew Anjorin’s ire, prompting her to accuse Samba of orchestrating a smear campaign against her.

Samba, however, maintained his innocence, emphasising his commitment to spreading positivity through his music.

Speaking exclusively to Per Second News on Friday, Samba said: “Many people and media houses shared this video, including Gistlover, but Lizzy Anjorin was not comfortable with the fact that Gistlover shared my music,” Samba recounted.

“She started accusing me of being sponsored to attack or mock her through the song.”

In response to the allegations, Samba took decisive action, issuing a public demand for an apology from Anjorin or risking legal repercussions.

“So, after a few days, I made a video to demand an apology; otherwise, I will take legal action against her,” Samba declared.

“I have never done any song in my life to attack anybody. All I do is praise God and battle with the principalities of evil with my talents through music. So, I have no idea that some people don’t like that.”
