New Police IG, Egbetokun, assumes office at Force headquarters, Abuja, amid jubilation

Twenty- four hours after he was appointed, the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, has assumed office at the Force headquarters in Abuja.

Persecondnews reports that the immediate past IGP, Mr Usman Baba, handed over to the 22nd indigenous IGP at noon.

Following Egbetokun’s appointment by President Bola Tinubu appointed Egbetokun on Tuesday alongside the new Service Chiefs, Vice-President Kashim Shettima had decorated him at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday.

Egbetokun had told newsmen shortly after his decoration that “he felt like a Tiger and Lion inside him ready to chase and devour all criminals and internal enemies of the country.”
