President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the Department of State Service (DSS) to vacate the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ikoyi, Lagos, with immediate effect.

The president’s intervention followed a report of the incident brought to his attention.

Persecondnews had reported that armed DSS operatives stormed the EFCC office located on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, on Tuesday morning, preventing officials of the anti-graft agency from accessing their offices with an armoured tank stationed at the entrance.

Tinubu said if there were issues between the two important agencies of government, it would be resolved amicably.

The DSS occupation of the office was to reclaim the office from the EFCC as the original owner.

But the spokesman for the secret police, Dr. Peter Afunanya, had denied any faceoff between DSS and the anti-graft agency.

“The Service is only occupying its own facility where it is carrying out its official and statutory responsibility,” he said.
