Embattled Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, has finally turned himself in to the Police as ordered by the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Alkali Baba.
Persecondnews reports that Seun Kuti, son of the late Afrobeat legendary singer, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti at the Lagos State Police Criminal and Investigations Department, Panti in Yaba on Monday morning.
The singer had promised to “cooperate” with the Police following an order for his arrest issued by IGP Baba for allegedly assaulting a police officer in Lagos on Saturday.
Seun had even posted a video yesterday where he boasted about the number of times he had dealt with police officers before Saturday’s incident.
He was seen in handcuffs when he turned himself in at the Police station in the company of two of his friends and a lawyer.
The Police Service Commission (PSC) had also waded into the matter and called for immediate prosecution of the singer to serve as a deterrent to others.
Per Seconds News gathered that Seun may be charged to court on Tuesday, May 16.
It was also learnt that a legal luminary, Mr Femi Falana (SAN) will be representing Fela’s son during the prosecution of the case.
