Murder of six people at INEC office: Police nab APC’s Majority Leader, House of Representatives

The Majority Leader of the House of Representatives and APC chieftain, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has been busted by the police over alleged killing of six people in Kano during the February 25 polls.
He was said to have gone under since tragic incident.
The lawmaker was, however, apprehended on Wednesday (March 1, 2023) at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport while trying to get out of the state, Persecondnews gathered.
Doguwa, who represents Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency of Kano State in the National Assembly, allegedly led an attack on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in his constituency which resulted in the deaths of about six people.
According to reports, Doguwa was declared winner of the House of Representatives election by an INEC official at gunpoint.
Confirming the arrest, the spokesman for the State Police Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said: “Yes, we have arrested Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, in connection with a murder case.

“He is currently in our custody, and the investigation is ongoing.”

 He assured the public that no stone will be left unturned in carrying out a thorough investigation.
