2023 polls results: INEC Chairman sold shame to Nigerians in the market place, says Kanayo Kanayo

Famous actor, Kanoyo O. Kanayo has shelved all plans to mark his 61st birthday today, saying there is no reason to celebrate when hearts of many Nigerians are bleeding as a result of the just concluded presidential election.

Kanayo, in a broadcast to his numerous fans and other he had convinced to go out and vote, apologised to Nigerians because he told them their votes will count based on his personal conviction.

According to the actor, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had promised to transmit elections results from the polling units to its server but reneged and allegedly manipulated the people’s mandate.

Speaking further, Kanayo, who rooted for Peter Obi, the candidate of Labour Party (LP), stated that Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of INEC should tender apologies to Nigeria and refund billions of taxpayers’ money he collected from the Federal Government to execute the conduct of elections across Nigeria.

“I am 61 today but nobody should congratulate me because there is no reason to celebrate when our hearts are bleeding as Nigerians.

“INEC has failed Nigerians and Mahmood Yakubu should refund the money he got from the Federal Government. He told us that election results would be transmitted live from polling units to INEC server but it never happened.

“We were hoping for a better Nigeria and it is not about Peter Obi winning or any other candidate winning but by doing the right thing.

“I am not celebrating. INEC Chairman and its officers compromised and sold shame to us in the marketplace. We must not let this happen to us and we will not accept it,” Persecondnews quotes Kanayo as saying.
