Actress, Eucharia Anunobi, has cautioned against the celebration of the St. Valentine’s Day by people who are not legally married, saying only those who have consummated their love should celebrate the day.
The world all over celebrates Valentine’s Day today as it is the tradition for many decades, Persecondnews reports.
Valentine’s Day, also called Saint Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is celebrated annually on February 14 for about 1,528 years.
It originated as a Christian feast day honoring a martyr named Valentine, according to Wikipedia.
But Anunobi is of the opinion that the day has been “bastardized” in Nigeria by unmarried men and women and also those who practice same sex relationship.
Persecondnews recalls that the veteran actress had said she had been ordained a pastor some years back and had since been counselling people through her social media platforms.
Speaking on the “Lover’s Day”, Anunobi said those who are engaging in premarital sex and same sex relationship have no right to celebrate the day as it is against the principle of St Valentine’s Day, which seeks to celebrate man and woman who are legally married as against those who engage in what she described as debauchery.
“Only men and women who are joined in Holy matrimony are permitted to mark Valentine’s Day. So people should stop destroying their destinies by engaging in fornication every year the Valentine’s Day rolls by.”
