Record holders Al-Ahly of Egypt secured a convincing straight-set win (25-10, 25-14, 25-6) over Soccocim of Senegal in Pool C of the ongoing African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship in Abuja.
The Egyptians came out strong from the start, dominating the game throughout and ensuring an easy win with multiple kills each.
Persecondnews correspondent covering the event at the MKO Abiola Stadium reports that Soccocim struggled to keep up with the pace and the strength of Al-Ahly’s attack, finding it difficult to get the ball back.
The Senegalese team lost the first set 25-10 and the second set 25-14.
Al-Ahly returned even stronger in the third set, sealing the set 25-6 and completing the straight-set victory.
Al-Ahly has kicked off their campaign in style, securing a win as they pursue their 11th championship title.
The Egyptian giants showcased their prowess throughout the match, delighting their fans who were beaming with joy after the final whistle.
