Scores are feared dead as explosives believed to be planted by terrorists went off on Monday morning at Galadima-Kogo, Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
This is coming few hours after bandits invaded three communities, few meters away from Galadima-Kogo, Persecondnews gathered.
Commenting on the incident, the Co-Convener of Concern Shiroro Youths, Sani Abubakar Yusuf Kokki, said many people might have been killed even though the casualty figure is yet to be ascertained as the affected areas are not accessible yet due to fear of more explosions.
The use of IEDs by terrorists while unleashing mayhem on unsuspecting victims in communities is strange and has created panic among inhabitants, he stated.
“Concerns are however rife among residents of the war-torn areas about the ugly development, bearing in mind the more devastating dimension this menace has taken. Explosions of this magnitude are new and unusual.
“The statement also explained that terrorists have been on a rampage in the Lakpma axis of Shiroro Local Government, wreaking havoc on residents.
“On Saturday, February 19, they invaded Makuba Community, Bassa/Kukoki Ward, Shiroro Local Government Area, killed one person, and kidnapped at least 15 persons,” it said.
He said the terrorists also invaded Guyi, Alai, and Kushaku villages, all in Galadima Kogo District of Shiroro Local Government Area, murdered at least 13 persons while scores of other residents were abducted.
