Few hours after Asiwaju Bola Tinubu unveiled plans to run the 2023 presidential poll, the opposition, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted, describing it as a huge joke.

A PDP chieftain in Lagos State and archrival of Tinubu, Chief Bode George, said the Presidency of Nigeria is not for characters like Bola Tinubu.

He described the presidential ambition of All Progressives Congress leader as a huge joke.

Persecondnews.com had reported this evening that the APC Leader had stormed Aso Rock to inform President Muhammadu Buhari of his intention to contest on the party’s platform.

The former Lagos State governor had told State House correspondents that he was tired of being a “kingmaker” and it was time to actualize his dream by being “king.”

“This so-called ambition must be a huge joke. The Presidency of Nigeria is not for characters like Bola Tinubu. Look at how he mismanaged the resources of Lagos State.

“It is surprising that he can even dream of becoming the President of Nigeria. He is living in cuckoo land,” George, a former Deputy National Chairman (South) of the PDP, said.

“Tinubu will be shocked by how things will go and how he will be double-crossed by those he is trusting.”

According to him, the Southwest has quality leaders who could produce the next President of Nigeria.

“Tinubu is not one of them,” George said dismissively.

He insisted that it would amount to an insult for the Southwest which is the most sophisticated region in the country “to settle for Tinubu.”

On the choice of Aso Rock for Tinubu to divulge his political aspiration, George said: “it is unfortunate that a hallowed ground like the Presidential Villa would be the location for Tinubu to declare his ambition.”
