UPDATED: Sowore beaten and arrested in Abuja

Omoyele Sowore has been arrested in Abuja on Monday at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The human rights activist and publisher of Saharareporters was assaulted by security operatives according to his lawyer Mr. Inibehe Effiong.

“Nigeria is under full dictatorship, Buhari has murdered democracy, said Effiong.

“It is not a crime for a citizen and a reporter to stand in a public place.”

UPDATE

Omoyele Sowore has been released by the security operatives. He disclosed that he was briefly arrested with a journalist. He disclosed that he was assaulted and dragged to the police station at the federal secretariat.
