Police remove body of unidentified man hanging at Okota shop in Lagos

The police have removed the body of a yet-to- be identified man, who allegedly committed suicide in front of a closed shop at Okota in Isolo area of Lagos.

Persecondnews had broken the story as bewildered residents on Saturday morning woke up to find the dangling body of the young man believed to be in his late 20s.

Sources said the deceased had pulled off his shirt and apron which he hung on the nails, before hanging himself with a rope tied to the roof in front of the shop.

Confirming the incident, police spokesman, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said that about 7.20 a.m. on Saturday, one Promise Azuoye reported the incident at Isolo Police Division.

He said that the woman told the police that about 6.40 a.m. on Saturday, she received a call that an unidentified young man, whose name, address, age are unknown, hanged himself with a rope.

The image maker said the woman told the police that the incident happened in front of her shop located at No. 42A, Godmon Street, Okota, Isolo.

“A team of policemen from the division immediately went to the scene and removed the corpse to Yaba General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

“No written note was left behind by the deceased at the scene and no mark of violence noticed on the body,” Adejobi said.
